Court and Zoya are together, then accidentally stumble into the midst of a string of murders of people in the artificial intelligence community. They try to mostly stay out of it while continuing to get involved.
Zack Hightower ends up working security for a man (Anton Hinton), a billionaire AI genius, because he is afraid he will be targeted.
A lot unfolds, and Court ultimately helps take down the antagonist, who turns out to be an AI created by Anton Hinton.
In the end, Zoya is captured by the Chinese and traded to Russia.
Zack kills Anton and is arrested.
Court is promised CIA support by Jim Pace.
Court goes to Matt Hanley for help in the epilogue.
